  • Legal Administrative Assistant – Clinical Negligence Department, Ref: ADMIN/CN/SJN/SEP16

    Leigh Day is urgently seeking a legal Administrative Assistant to join its highly acclaimed Clinical Negligence Department. The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for supporting a partner, solicitor and fee earners across the team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a committed team working on interesting and complex clinical negligence claims.

    Main responsibilities of the role will involve general administrative tasks such as filing, payment of invoices, photocopying, scanning, typing, recording and distributing post, etc. Other responsibilities include liaising with medical institutions to request and chase medical records, sorting through medical records and preparing and checking bundles, as well as assistance with our legal tasks.

    Experience in supporting fee earners within a legal team and a law degree is desirable but not essential. What is essential is a commitment to providing first class support to the wider legal team and to our clients. Candidates should have excellent verbal and written communication coupled with strong client servicing skills and should be able to deal with clients in an appropriate professional manner. S/he should be computer literate with advanced Word, Excel and Access skills. We are looking for hard-working and proactive individuals who are able to use their initiative and are able to work well under pressure and tight deadlines. A positive attitude and an active interest in this area of law are essential.

  • Secretary – Personal Injury Department, Manchester, Ref: SEC/PI/HA/SEP16

    Leigh Day is urgently seeking a Secretary to assist within the Personal Injury department. The role holder will provide secretarial support to a Partner within the Asbestos team. Relevant secretarial experience within personal injury and / or, asbestos litigation will be highly advantageous.

    The successful applicant must be reliable, organised and have fast and accurate audio and copy typing skills (approx. 70wpm). The ideal candidate will be computer literate with up-to-date word and excel skills, possess excellent standard of spoken and written English. S/he should be able to produce work accurately, promptly and efficiently and work with initiative whilst maintaining a flexible and responsible approach. S/he must have good attendance and timekeeping skills.
