Leigh Day opens in Newcastle to support asbestos-affected clients closely
Law firm Leigh Day has expanded into the North East with the opening of a new office on Newcastle’s Quayside.
Posted on 08 February 2021
The office will initially aim to help people who are suffering with asbestos-related illnesses.
Leigh Day is regarded as one of the UK’s leading industrial disease specialists and pursues compensation for clients from former employers to give them much needed help with care and to help provide for their families when they are gone.
Leigh Day has more than 30 years’ experience in cases involving asbestos-related disease. In 2020 Chambers Legal Directory commented that the firm’s industrial disease group offered ‘first-rate representation to claimants suffering from asbestos related diseases. Featuring prominently in headline disease cases and retaining strong links to support groups catering for those with mesothelioma’.
From the new office at Rotterdam House, Leigh Day will seek to support North East asbestos charity Readley Asbestos and national charity Mesothelioma UK. The firm is recommended as legal representative by both organisations.
The office will be operating from mid-February and potential clients will be able to make contact by emailing sdickens@leighday.co.uk or hashton@leighday.co.uk or calling 0191 9339104.
Leigh Day’s joint head of asbestos litigation, Daniel Easton, said:
“Leigh Day is committed to obtaining justice for the thousands of workers and their families throughout the North East affected by occupational disease and injury, especially asbestos related disease.
“The shipbuilding industry means it is a region particularly blighted by problems caused by asbestos. Opening a Newcastle office means we can provide a closer personal service to our clients and better represent people in the North East.”
