Sarah Moore, who specialises in large group actions in the UK and overseas, has been shortlisted for Partner of the Year, while solicitor Charlotte Armstrong has been nominated for Rising Star of the Year.

The firm, which recently celebrated its third year anniversary in Leeds, has also been nominated in the Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Team of the Year category.

Leigh Day first established itself in Leeds in the summer of 2022, before moving to an office in City Square the following year. The office has since grown and expanded its staff and services to include personal injury, employment, travel, and group claims.

Sarah Moore, nominated for Partner of the Year, works across a range of different group claims, from product liability and health issues to emerging environmental issues.

Her work has seen her represent clients in a claim over complications from the AstraZeneca vaccine, as well as clients diagnosed with cancer linked to breast implants. Sarah also provided written and oral evidence to the COVID Inquiry earlier this year concerning vaccine injuries and how to improve provision for those affected.

Charlotte Armstrong, nominated for the Rising Star award, works alongside Sarah in the group claims department, including on a novel environmental pollution claim involving "forever chemicals”.

Charlotte represents individuals  in their claim against a company over alleged pollution from PFAS (per and poly-fluoroalkyl) substances, which is the first PFAS related claim in the UK. She has also submitted evidence to the government’s Environmental Audit Committee regarding the regulation and monitoring of PFAS substances.

As a firm, Leigh Day is nominated for the Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Team of the Year award.

The Leeds personal injury and clinical negligence teams are headed up by Beth Sanders and Matthew Westlake respectively – who together have decades of experience in handling complex and high value claims.

The teams represent people who are often dealing with trauma and grief, as well as uncertainty about their future, and help support them in various ways such as  obtaining early rehabilitation to maximise their recovery.

The awards ceremony is set to take place on 9 October 2025 at New Dock Hall in Leeds.

Bethany Sanders, who also leads the Leeds office, said:

“This year’s nominations are a reflection of the great progress we have made in Leeds since first establishing ourselves in the city three years ago. With nominations in both individual and team categories across different departments, we are delighted to see recognition for so many of our colleagues. This is a testament to the fantastic work undertaken this past year, which we hope to build on as our presence in the city and across Yorkshire continues to grow.”
