Leigh Day celebrates wins at Manchester Legal Awards
Leigh Day is celebrating the work of partner Stephen Jones, who won Partner of the Year, and head of human resources Jonathan Bond, who won the Corporate Culture & Wellbeing Champions award, at last night's Manchester Legal Awards (3 July 2025).
These awards recognise partner Stephen Jones’ commitment to securing justice for his clients and HR Director Jonathan Bond’s dedication to fostering a positive and collaborative workplace where employees feel valued and supported.
Clinical negligence partner Stephen Jones has led Leigh Day’s clinical negligence department in Manchester since joining the firm in 2015. He specialises in cerebral palsy and spinal injury claims and has consistently secured large settlements for clients.
Jonathan Bond is the firm’s HR Director, leading the human resources function to help the firm to achieve its strategic objectives. He has over 25 years working at a senior HR level in the legal sector and has steered Leigh Day to the award for workplace culture and wellbeing excellence within a year of joining the firm.
Leigh Day was nominated for six awards in total at this year’s Manchester Legal Awards, the most of any firm shortlisted. The nominations were for:
- Medium Law Firm of the Year
-
Partner of the Year
-
Solicitor of the Year
-
Employment Team of the Year
-
Personal Injury/Clinical Negligence Team of the Year
-
Corporate Culture & Wellbeing Champion award
These award wins and nominations are a tribute to Leigh Day’s impact on the Manchester legal landscape since it established in the city in 2014.
Stephen Jones said:
“I’m absolutely delighted. The reality is that you cannot win something like this without having a great team, so this is their award really rather than mine. We fight hard to achieve justice when there has been clinical negligence and I’m very proud that those efforts have been recognised in this way.”
Jonathan Bond said:
“The culture and wellbeing award has been earned by a great team effort by the HR function and the leadership team in Manchester. We have a strong story to tell about our culture, our learning and development programme and our wellbeing policies, all of which help us towards our crucial goal of attracting, nurturing and retaining talent.”
