Peter Andrew Holmes, aged 71 and now retired, is alleged to have committed two counts of buggery and multiple indecent assaults and acts of gross indecency, between 1977 and 1992 while working at the independent preparatory school, report North Yorkshire Police.

The retired English teacher and former school rugby coach, who now lives in Bristol, is alleged to have committed the offences against 20 boys who were all aged under 14 at the time of the allegations.

Holmes is due to appear before Bristol Crown Court on Friday, 26 February 2021 for an initial plea and trial preparation hearing.

Malsis School, in Glusburn, near Skipton, closed in 2014.
