Leigh Day and Proactive host innovative prosthetics conference in Leeds
Law firm Leigh Day and specialist orthotic and prosthetic clinic Proactive co-hosted an amputation and prosthetics conference for the legal and medical technological communities in Leeds on 6 June.

Titled Advancing Lives Together: When Legal Expertise Meets Prosthetic and Orthotic Innovation, the conference brought together leading professionals, innovators, and key stakeholders from across the fields of amputation care, prosthetics, orthotics, and legal advocacy.
Attendees were treated to a series of presentations and discussions showcasing the latest advancements and collaborative efforts aimed at transforming patient care and outcomes.
Key highlights from the conference included:
- Customised solutions with 3D printing: Alan McDougall and Doug Young delved into the revolutionary role of 3D printing in creating customised prosthetic and orthotic devices, highlighting advancements that enhance patient outcomes.

Limb reconstruction and pain management: A multidisciplinary team from the Birmingham Amputee Clinic, including Holly King, Deborah Foong, Paul Fenton, and Michael Parry, discussed innovative approaches to limb reconstruction.

Additionally, Liz Haunch from Bridge Case Management presented creative case management strategies.
