Family of ex-Grosvenor House employee seeks witnesses after asbestos death
The family of plumber Peter Muckle, who worked at Grosvenor House in London, is appealing for information from anyone who worked at the hotel during the 1980s and 2000s.

Peter died aged 74 in February 2023 after developing mesothelioma, an asbestos related cancer. His partner, Nova Clayton, believes he came into contact with asbestos while working for Grosvenor House in London between 1980 and 2013.
In the 1980s, Peter was working for a company called Charisma when he was sent to work at Grosvenor House and later became a direct employee at the hotel.
Peter Muckle.
Peter’s job at the hotel was mainly plumbing and general maintenance, working all over the building wherever it was needed. It is possible that there was asbestos on the ducts, pipes and valves at the hotel. There was also possibly some asbestos sheeting.
Towards the end of his life Peter lived in Kent with Nova. He was diagnosed with mesothelioma in December 2022 and died just two months later.
Nova and the Leigh Day asbestos claims team would like to hear from anyone who worked with Peter at Grosvenor House at a similar time and may have information regarding asbestos at the hotel.
Leigh Day partner Daniel Easton said:
“Peter worked at Grosvenor House for many years, and it is possible that during this time he was exposed to asbestos which resulted in him contracting mesothelioma. If there are any former colleagues of Peter, or if anyone worked at Grosvenor House and remembers the presence of asbestos, the family would be grateful for any information received.”
