Family of former Lancashire plumber appeal for information
The family of a former Lancashire plumber are hoping that former colleagues might remember working with Peter Gardiner during the 1950s, 60s and 70s.

Peter Gardiner, from Chadderton near Oldham, recently died aged 78, from asbestos-related cancer, mesothelioma.
Peter worked as an apprentice plumber at John Turton & Son Limited from 1957 to 1963 and then as a plumber at Manchester Corporation from 1962 to 196, Matthew Hall & Co Limited from 1969 to 1971 and Rider Hunt & Partners from 1970 to 1973.
In January 2019, Peter was diagnosed with mesothelioma, a cancer caused by exposure to asbestos. He died on 29 January 2019.
Anne Gardiner, widow of Peter and a former Manchester teacher, said:
“When I met up with his colleagues back then at work parties, they always used to make jokes about me being a teacher, saying that I must be bossing Peter around.”
Peter’s family are represented by Leigh Day solicitors.
