Retired teacher to face magistrates over sexual abuse at school charges
A retired teacher is due to appear before magistrates today on charges that he indecently assaulted boys at Oakwood Preparatory School, Chichester and Salisbury Cathedral School.

Piers Le Cheminant, 75, of Newton Abbot, Devon, is accused of committing the offences between 1960 and 1985.
It is alleged that he indecently assaulted 10 boys at Oakwood Preparatory School, Chichester between 1960 and 1980 and that he sexually assaulted five boys at Salisbury Cathedral School between 1981 and 1985.
Le Cheminant’s case is listed for him to appear at Worthing Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 2 February, 2021.
The prosecution follows an investigation begun by detectives from the Sussex Police Complex Abuse Unit after information about alleged abuse was received for the first time in 2017.
The allegations have no connection with any current or recent staff, management or pupils at the schools, it is stressed.
The charges relate to a period that ended more than 35 years ago, and it is reported that current management at both schools have given full co-operation throughout the investigation.
