Diabetes and pregnancy in healthcare
Please join us on Thursday 29 April for the last in our series of ‘Women’s Rights in Healthcare’ discussions where our panel will be talking about diabetes and pregnancy in healthcare.
There are estimated to be 4 million adults living with Diabetes in the UK, 44% of which are women. This event, chaired by Suzanne White, will look at unique challenges faced by women living with the condition, particularly during pregnancy. Common complications, how healthcare professionals are managing risk and insight from a Leigh Day client from a patient’s lived experience.

Clare Tower is a Consultant Obstetrician Central Manchester & Manchester Children’s Foundation Trust. Clare has written previously about the impact of pregnancy when the mother has diabetes. Clare will be speaking about how diabetes can affect pregnant women and what care should be available for women to ensure that stories like Nadine’s do not occur.
Nadine Montgomery will also be joining us to tell her story and her landmark victory. Nadine has type 1 diabetes and her son was born with injuries due to medical negligence.
