Legal expertise

Tristan is currently assisting Shazia Yamin on the firm’s Volkswagen diesel emissions group claim. Leigh Day is bringing several claims against vehicle manufacturers following allegations that diesel vehicles had been fitted with ‘defeat’ devices, which allowed manufacturers to cheat emissions tests.

Further experience

Prior to joining Leigh Day, Tristan was an Associate and Pro Bono Coordinator at a top-tier international firm in Melbourne, where he specialised in litigation, investigations and strategic advice.

Tristan also worked as a civil solicitor in the Northern Territory of Australia, helping to provide access to justice to First Nations Peoples living in extremely remote communities. During this time, Tristan’s practice areas included housing and tenancy rights, consumer law, social security and police and prison accountability.

Education

Tristan holds a double Bachelor of Science and Law from Monash University, Australia. Tristan has also completed a course on International Environmental Law at Maastricht University.
