Surgeon named in Addenbrookes investigation as Kuldeep Stohr
Julia Reynolds, partner at the clinical negligence team at Leigh Day is working with a family in respect of concerns arising from care at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge.

Initially the surgeon had not been named and that the Trust had confirmed that a review had established that there were nine children who had received care below the expected standard. The Trust has now named the surgeon being investigated as Kuldeep Stohr, a paediatric orthopaedic surgeon who is reported as having seen as many as 200 patients a month.
Julia is working with a family concerned by the care that that their child has received under this surgeon. Julia Reynolds is also instructed in a similar group of cases arising from the care at Great Ormond Street, under the Paediatric Surgeon, Yaser Jabbar. Families who now have similar concerns are now coming forward.
Julia Reynolds said:
“We have been instructed by families in both these investigations, that have concerns that their children have not received appropriate care. The families placed their trust in hospitals that they considered to have leading reputations. They are now discovering that the care that they have actually received may be negligent and that care may have caused their children injury, which is very distressing.
"Often with these investigations, it takes a long time to uncover the truth. Investigations often start off small, before establishing how many children may be affected. Independent reports are obtained, and when significant numbers are involved, this can be a long process which adds to the worries of the families.
"I would urge the Trust to expediate any investigation – so that families can know if their children have been affected. Families will want to know the impact that any negligent care had caused. They will want their children reviewed by independent experts, and make sure that any future care is provided. This is bound to raise concerns for the future, and families will need reassurance that those needs will be met.”
