Specialist consumer safety lawyer Michelle Victor has voiced her concerns after KP Snacks Ltd announced that they were recalling certain date codes of 4 variants of McCoy's multipack crisps due to possible contamination with small pieces of plastic.
As a precautionary measure, the company has recalled the following:
Best before date: - 15 June 2013, lot code 3066 (below Best Before). This information can be found on the back of the outer packaging.
Michelle Victor who works in the product liability team at Leigh day said: “This is the latest in a number of recalls by food companies citing pieces of plastic being found in their product. I would question why these events are taking place and what these companies are doing to ensure the public are not harmed.
“If there are faults in common in the production of these recalled foodstuffs we hope that companies can share information in the interests of the consumer.”
