Finance Assistant – Personal Injury

Our Personal Injury team have a new opportunity for a Finance Assistant to assist the Finance Admin Manager.

Key Tasks and responsibilities
• Liaising with relevant external suppliers/clients negotiating reduced fees where applicable.
• Ensuring a nil balance for all settled cases to enable file closure.
• Ensuring all abandoned cases are resolved by contacting relevant ATE providers.
• Telephone external contracts/suppliers in a courteous and efficient manner.
• Ensure monetary transactions are dealt with efficiently and in accordance with office procedures.

To be successful you must have
• Genuine interest to work with a leading claimant law firm and passionate about providing access to justice for all.
• Previous experience of working within a finance function would be beneficial but is not essential.
• Demonstrable experience in working with external stakeholders such as third party insurers, suppliers, clients and defendants and internal stakeholders such as partners, finance/accounts team etc.
• Proven ability to organise and prioritise complex workloads and work to tight deadlines.
• A high level of IT proficiency including MS Word, Excel, Case Management Systems and Outlook.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Manchester.

Facilities Administrator – Business Services

Leigh Day’s London office is currently seeking to appoint a Facilities Administrator to join the Business Services Department.  The purpose of this role is to provide administrative support to the Head of Facilities to ensure that the Facilities Team delivers an efficient and effective level of service to all members of the firm.

Main tasks and responsibilities:
• Supporting the Head of Facilities in delivering initiatives and projects; e.g. office moves, implementing a paperless office, new policies
• Liaising with relevant stakeholders for any planned preventative and/or reactive maintenance as and when required
• General administration, including maintaining electronic and paper files
• To assist with post collection and distribution and reprographics as and when required
• Providing cover for reception and court work

To be successful you must be have:
• Previous relevant office facilities experience
• Experience in a legal practice or other professional services organisation is preferable
• Ability to demonstrate a strong customer service and a ‘hands-on’ approach
• Ability to work independently and also as part of a team, influencing both colleagues and clients where appropriate
• Demonstrable experience of excellent IT and Microsoft Office skills
• Strong communication skills
