Leigh Day's Manchester office

The Leigh Day Manchester office opened in 2014 to bring the firm’s renowned expertise in handling claimant personal injury and medical negligence work to the north-west. Our Manchester team is led by Andrew Bradley and handles a range of clinical negligence, personal injury, asbestos disease claims and employment work.

The team handles claims for injured cyclists having for several years exclusively provided legal support to injured members of British Cycling and the British Triathlon Federation. Associate solicitor Rachel Botterill is an experienced cycle injury lawyer, including for cyclists who have suffered brain and spinal injuries. Solicitor Jane Bedford McLaren also specialises in representing injured cyclists.

Partner Clare Campbell handles cases on behalf of clients who have been injured or contracted illnesses whilst on holiday. Solicitor Joseph Dawson specialises exclusively in international travel injury claims. Associate solicitor Ross Whalley handles personal injury claims on behalf of trade union members, including accident at work claims.

Partner Helen Ashton focuses exclusively on asbestos and mesothelioma claims.   Helen has specialised in this area of law since 2003 and is an APIL accredited personal injury and asbestos disease specialist.  Partner Kevin Johnson has over 20 years' experience in occupational disease claim cases, with particular experience in asbestos and mesothelioma claims in Liverpool, Merseyside and the North West. He is a band 1 lawyer in Chambers and Partners, is an APIL Fellow and holds accreditation from APIL as an asbestos disease and occupational disease specialist.  He is a Law Society accredited personal injury lawyer. Kevin can meet you at our Liverpool office by appointment. Solicitor Steven Dickens has more than 10 years' experience in acting for vicitims of asbetsos exposure in the North West. He is an accredited APIL senior litigator, and a member of the Turner & Newall Asbestos Trust advisory committee. Louisa Saville is an accredited asbestos claims solicitor. 

Star ranked in Chambers, partner Stephen Jones leads the medical negligence team in Manchester.  He has extensive experience in all clinical negligence claims having specialised in this area of law since 1986. He is an accredited member of the Law Society's clinical negligence panel, and the AvMA panel. Medical negligence partner Brendan Hope has more than 15 years' experience in the field, he has settled numerous high-value clinical negligence claims and is ranked as a Band 2 solicitor by Chambers and Partners.   Medical negligence solicitors Lauren TullyClaire WhiteJulie Struthers, and Rebecca Ridgeon are also based in the Manchester office.

The employment team includes associate solicitors Lauren LougheedMike Cain, Linda Wong and solicitor Ryan Bradshaw who are handling a number of group claims on behalf of employees, particularly supermarket equal pay claims, as well as acting for individuals.
