The shortlist highlights achievements across the UK’s legal industry, drawing on interviews and client feedback conducted for the Chambers UK Guide 2025.
This year, Leigh Day is shortlisted for the Personal Injury or Clinical Negligence Team of the Year, and Administrative and Public Law Team of the Year.
Leigh Day’s personal injury team and disease team led by Sally Moore and Daniel Easton handles a range of claims including for brain injuries, cycling collisions, food allergies and poisoning claims, faulty consumer goods and services, injuries at work and in respect of industrial disease, largely arising from exposure to asbestos dust.
Suzanne White leads the medical negligence department across areas such as birth injury claims, illness and disease, brain and spinal injury cases, high profile inquests and practitioner negligence. The team also supports charities campaigning to improve patient safety.
Tessa Gregory and Jamie Beagent head the public law team, which represents individuals, and non-governmental organisations in a range of human rights and environment public law cases.
In February this year, the public law team won an Administrative and Public Law Team of the Year award for its work in representing individuals and campaign groups in a range of domestic and international public law cases.
The Chambers UK Awards – Winter Edition ceremony is set to take place in London on 26 November 2025 at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Personal injury partner Sally Moore said:
“The personal injury team prides itself on the holistic approach we take to supporting clients and their families when they have suffered serious injury. Wherever we can we use the litigation process to secure interim payments on account of compensation to alleviate financial hardship and rehab to ensure our clients have the best possible chance of maximising their recovery.
“The department also includes an incredibly strong industrial disease team who fight cases for people who have developed asbestos-related conditions such as mesothelioma and pleural thickening. More recently they have pioneered claims for people who have developed silicosis following exposure to silica dust in the workplace."
Medical negligence partner Suzanne White said:
“It is fantastic to see our teams’ hard work being recognised through the Chambers Awards.
“We represent clients who feel dismissed, ignored, and frankly abandoned by systems that should provide care. We look to provide clients with a safe space that understands the difficult times that they’ve been through and guide them through justice.
“Not only do we represent our clients in order to have access to justice, but we also support charities in their campaigns to improve patient safety.”
Human rights partner Tessa Gregory said:
“We are delighted that our dedicated team’s pioneering work is being acknowledged with this nomination.
“It is a real privilege to see the difference that our team has made to so many communities, campaigners, and individuals. Every year, they go above and beyond to make a difference.”
