Maks Hara
Senior associate solicitor
Maks is a senior associate solicitor in the international department.
Maks specialises in competition disputes and complex, high-stakes group litigation. His main professional interest lies in redressing the imbalance between big business and ordinary people.
Maks has a uniquely broad dispute resolution experience, encompassing complex High Court litigation, proceedings before the Competition Appeal Tribunal, international commercial arbitration under most major rules, investor-state disputes under bilateral and multilateral investment treaties, international trade law (WTO), contentious public international law matters, and mediation. Maks has also served as an arbitrator.
Before joining Leigh Day Maks practiced for a decade with Allen & Overy in London and in Paris. He was also seconded to the global disputes team of Royal Dutch Shell plc. Maks has experience in many sectors, ranging from renewable energy to food production, and particular expertise in technical matters.
Due to the breadth and depth of his experience Maks is comfortable taking an unorthodox and highly versatile approach to resolving complex disputes, employing novel procedural solutions where appropriate.
