VW emissions claim

In the region of 60,000 claimants are bringing claims against Volkswagen after they admitted that 1.2 million VW, Audi, Skoda and SEAT vehicles sold in the UK were fitted with emissions test cheating software. Volkswagen denies that this software is unlawful and as a result is facing the largest consumer group action to come before the English courts.
The Court approved a Group Litigation Order (‘GLO’) in March 2018 which appointed Leigh Day as joint lead solicitors in the action. The GLO is awaiting final approval of the President of the Queen’s Bench Division of the High Court.
We are bringing a group claim for compensation for people who bought affected vehicles. For those who are eligible, we will be claiming a refund of at least 50% of the value of your car or finance repayments made on or after 1 October 2014.
So, for example, if your VW/ SEAT/ Audi cost £20,000, you could be entitled to £10,000 or more in compensation.
We will act for you under a conditional fee agreement, popularly known as “no win no fee”.
You can join our claim group if:
  • Your vehicle was bought for personal, not business, use.
  • You paid anything to an approved Volkswagen dealer or Volkswagen Finance on or after the 1st October 2014.
  • You bought your vehicle before 1 January 2016
It doesn’t matter whether you bought your vehicle new or second hand.
More information on the claim and our fee arrangements can be found on our FAQs page
To join the group action complete our form and we will be in touch.
