According to reports the FlixBus coach tipped over on the A1 motorway in northern France on Sunday 3rd November 2019.

The coach was carrying 32 passengers when it crashed in the Somme region, close to the village of Ablaincourt-Pressoir.

Ms Campbell, a partner at law firm Leigh Day, said:

“Those involved in this horrific crash will have been left both physically and mentally affected by what must have been a terrifying experience.

“Initial report suggest that five people were seriously injured, we await further details, but we call on the French authorities to urgently start a thorough investigation to trace the cause of this incident in order to ensure that steps can be taken to prevent further collisions.”

Jamie Kerr and Gemma Given from Northern Ireland were injured in the crash. Mr Kerr's father told the BBC the incident had been "a pretty traumatic end to a Halloween weekend".

"I feel a bit more could have been done for them," he continued

"They'll learn a lot from all of this, but I'm expecting an emotional response when they get home and it all hits them."

An FCO spokesperson said:

"We are in contact with the French authorities following a road traffic accident in France, and will do all we can to assist any British people who need our help."
