Leigh Day revealed to be top-scoring law firm that “clients most strongly recommend”

Legal news website Legal Business has reported that Leigh Day is the most highly recommended law firm by clients.

Posted on 19 February 2026

Following a survey with more than 90,000 responses, Legal Business has announced 100 firms that clients most strongly recommend, with Leigh Day ranked as the “top-scoring firm” for this year.

Legal 500 referees were asked ‘On a scale of 0–10, how likely are you to recommend this firm?’. A score for each firm was calculated by taking the percentage of respondents who scored firms with a nine, or 10 out of 10, and subtracting the percentage of respondents who scored firms with a six or below.

Leigh Day ranked the most highly with a score of 87.2%.

The announcement shortly follows the news that Leigh Day was recognised in the Times’s list of best UK law firms for 2026. The Times also ranked Leigh Day as a joint best firm in administrative and public law, human rights, personal injury and clinical negligence.

Leigh Day represents individuals and campaign groups against corporations and state bodies across human rights, medical negligence, personal injury, employment, and environmental claims, both in the UK and internationally.

The firm, which was founded in 1987 by Martyn Day and Sarah Leigh, has offices across the UK, including London, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and Cardiff, seeking to ensure that high quality local representation is accessible to all.

The firm is ranked in Band 1 in 14 categories in the independent legal directory Chambers and Partners and is in the Top Tier in the Legal 500 for personal injury, medical negligence, human rights, employment and consumer law.

Martyn Day, senior partner and co-founder of Leigh Day, said:

“The news that Leigh Day is the firm clients would most strongly recommend is a real testament to our incredible teams’ hard work across the firm. It is an honour to be recognised by clients for the commitment and tenacity our teams demonstrate in the work that they put in to ensure that their cases are heard justly and fought with fervour.”
