Dhiran is presently acting on a large-scale group litigation case in the High Court against vehicle manufacturers for fitting vehicles with alleged “defeat devices” in order to cheat emissions tests. This litigation is one of the largest of its kind in this jurisdiction.
Legal expertise
Dhiran plays a key role in the diesel emissions case against various manufacturers. One of the cases Dhiran is working on is against Mercedes-Benz with claims being brought for over 36,000 individuals.
Alongside assisting with the substantive litigation, he leads a team in the Manchester office, managing daily client interactions and ensuring efficient case progression across multiple emissions cases.
Before joining Leigh Day, Dhiran amassed diverse litigation experience, including complex commercial disputes, high-value personal injury, clinical negligence, and contract disagreements. As a qualified Solicitor Advocate, he has represented clients in various court proceedings, including trials and application hearings.
Education
Dhiran earned a Combined Honours degree in Law (LLB) and Business (BA) from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN). He further went on to study a Master of Laws (LLM) alongside his Legal Practice Course (LPC) from UCLAN.
