Bob is an associate solicitor in Paul Dowling’s team, specialising in whistleblowing and corruption claims.

Legal experience and expertise

Prior to joining Leigh Day, Bob was the Head of Advice & Advocacy at the whistleblowing NGO Protect (formerly Public Concern at Work), where he advised over 2,500 whistleblowers on how to most effectively raise their public interest concerns whilst best safeguarding their professional position. Bob also led Protect’s legal intervention work, including the Court of Appeal cases of Day v Health Education England [2017], Gilham v Ministry of Justice [2017], Osipov v Timis and Sage [2018], and Kong v Gulf International Bank [2022]; as well as the Supreme Court case of Gilham v Ministry of Justice [2019].

Bob is currently acting for a number of whistleblowers who allege to have suffered harm as a result of the actions of multinational companies and State bodies, after raising serious public interest concerns about those organisations’ activities.

In addition to obtaining significant compensation for his clients to reflect the irreversible damage done to their careers and mental health, Bob also works closely with his clients to use legal proceedings as a mechanism for accountability, and to shine a spotlight on issues of wider public importance. Bob has acted for a wide number of professionals, including social workers, engineers, surveyors, defence contractors, management consultants, and accountants.

Education

Bob graduated from University College London with a first-class degree and a position on the Dean’s List, before undertaking the Graduate Diploma in Law at Kaplan Law School, and Legal Practice Course at BPP.
