Rebecca Ridgeon is an associate solicitor in the medical negligence department.
Rebecca is a associate solicitor in the clinical negligence department, working in Leigh Day’s Manchester office. Rebecca assists partners Stephen Jones and Brendan Hope on a range of medical negligence cases on behalf of clients who have suffered brain, spinal, orthopaedic and other serious injuries.
Legal expertise
Rebecca joined Leigh Day as a trainee solicitor in September 2016 and she has worked exclusively on medical negligence cases since September 2017. She qualified as a solicitor in September 2018.
Rebecca deals with a range of medical negligence cases and has successfully negotiated substantial compensation payments for clients who have suffered a variety of serious injuries including strokes, limb amputation, gynaecological injuries, and serious eye disorders as a result of negligent medical treatment. She also represents families who have suffered the loss of a loved one as a result of medical negligence, representing families at Inquests as well as investigating any accompanying medical negligence claim.

- Representing the family of 35-year-old Steven Hasler at inquest, after he was sent home from A&E with a serious chest wound infection which went on to cause sepsis.
- Representing the family of Professor Philip Lowe at inquest, after he died from a perforated colon because doctors failed to treat a twist in his bowel.
- Negotiating a settlement for a man who was sent home with a punctured bowel following routine surgery for gallstones.
- Negotiating a six-figure settlement for a man after he suffered a serious complication of Optical Express laser eye surgery which went undiagnosed for six months.
- Negotiating a settlement for woman after a six-month delay in diagnosis of a wrist fracture which left her with permanent symptoms.
- Representing an elite racing cyclist who was left with additional scarring to his face after a botched procedure.
