25 July 2016

Triathlon, made up of swimming, cycling and running, makes its Paralympic Games debut in Rio which begins on 7th September 2016.

George is part of the UK Sport World Class British Paratriathlon squad and competes in the PT4 category.

After suffering a traumatic injury to his left leg and ankle when he was two years old George had several reconstructive surgeries, and leg lengthening procedures.

Coming from a family of high-achieving triathletes, George did not let his disability prevent him from taking up the sport in 2009 aged just 14.

In 2011 he was noticed at a talent day for UK paratriathletes and in 2013 he was the youngest paratriathlon medallist ever, winning a bronze medal at the ITU World Championships in London aged 17.

The cycling and sports injury team at Leigh Day are exclusively retained by both British Triathlon and British Cycling to provide legal services for their members. The legal team has successfully represented over 1,000 injured cyclists and athletes.

The team enjoy spreading their love of cycling and actively support the #BackInSaddles movement, encouraging cyclists to get back to their everyday lives and on a bike after injury.

Sally Moore, head of the personal injury team at Leigh day said:

“We pride ourselves on supporting those who have suffered serious injuries, to improve their chances of recovery and getting back into sport and activity as soon as they are able."

“We are very proud to be sponsoring George and wish him all the best when competing.”
