Windrush generation

We are preparing a potential group action against the Government on behalf of people, who fall under the definition of the ‘Windrush Generation’, over the effects of the hostile environment policy devised by the Home Office to implement the provisions of the 2014 Immigration Act, which was put in place whilst Theresa May was Home Secretary.

The potential range of issues facing the Windrush generation include being unlawfully detained and deported, losing jobs or employment rights, being denied medical treatment, due to the ‘hostile environment’ policy.

If you or a member of your family has been affected by the Windrush scandal please contact our team by completing this short form, or phone us on 020 7650 1200.

The Windrush scandal: the fallout from a toxic policy

HMT Empire Windrush arrived at Tilbury Docks in June 1948, carrying citizens of the United Kingdom and Colonies from Jamaica, and signalled the start of the post-war revival in which the hard work of new arrivals proved vital.

Now those very same people and their families, are suffering the repercussions of Theresa May’s ‘hostile environment’ policy towards immigrants.

Guest speakers: Dawn Butler MP & Richard Meeran Leigh Day partner and head of the international department.
