Inquest into the death of Professor Jason Arday

An inquest into the death of Professor Jason Arday was opened at London Inner South Coroners Court on Wednesday 26 August 2026.

Prof Arday died on Friday 14 August 2026.

In a short hearing, Coroner Julian Norris said he had reason to suspect unnatural death so he must open an investigation.

Prof Arday’s family are represented by Jacqueline McKenzie, partner at law firm Leigh Day.

Ms McKenzie’s team includes Dan Webster and Jerome Bond, both solicitors at Leigh Day.

Ms McKenzie has instructed Martin Forde KC, of 1 Crown Office Row. He is assisted by Elaine Banton of Doughty Street Chambers.

The inquest was adjourned to a date to be confirmed.
