When Mark was hit by a car turning right into a side road and he was knocked off his bike he was critically injured. The car driver promptly left the scene.
Mark suffered a high level
spinal cord injury and he is now a tetraplegic and wheelchair user.
Mark had a young family to support but lost his job when he was injured as it was impossible for him to continue in the same role.
Following a long and difficult period of recovery and rehabilitation Mark has now qualified as a fitness instructor, and has twice completed the London Marathon. He is a keen wheelchair racer.
The compensation he received has allowed him to buy and adapt a
family home in North London, complete with a lift, wet room, and specially designed kitchen. The hallways and doors of the house are wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair, and there is an electronic front door.
