Cycling collisions

Our cycling and sports accidents claims team represent cyclists and sports people who have been injured in sporting activities, whilst training, enjoying leisure pursuits or whilst commuting to work.

Being involved in a cycle collision can often result in catastrophic injuries to the cyclist, including brain and spinal injuries.  About one quarter of the cyclists killed or injured are children and some 75% of cyclists killed have major head injuries.

Our specialist expertise in cycling collisions has led to Leigh Day being retained by both British Cycling and the British Triathlon Federation to provide a first class legal service for their members who are involved in a road crash. The team has successfully represented over 1,000 injured cyclists and athletes of these organisations in the past two years who received injuries from bruising, whiplash and broken collarbones to life-changing incidents causing long-term brain and spinal injuries.

Many of our legal team are also cyclists so understand the challenges of staying safe on the roads as well as the serious life-changing consequences that can occur because of an acquired brain injury, or spinal cord injury following a cycling road collision.
