Prisons

Hannah Jandu is an associate solicitor in the human rights department at Leigh Day. Her work includes:

Prisons: Hannah has worked in the firm’s prison team since 2025 and has a diverse caseload representing people in prison, with a particular focus on assault claims, discrimination, and inquests. She has experience in private law claims for compensation under the Equality Act and Human Rights Act.

Inquests: Hannah also has experience representing bereaved families in inquest proceedings following deaths either in custody or shortly upon release from custody.

Before joining Leigh Day in 2025, Hannah worked at Duncan Lewis Solicitors from 2021 until 2025 in the Public Law and Human Rights Department and gained experience in public law claims for judicial review as well as private law claims under the Human Rights Act.

Hannah studied Philosophy at the University of Birmingham and obtained a Master’s in Law (Qualifying Law Degree) from the University of Law in 2021. Hannah successfully completed SQE1 in 2024 and went on to successfully complete SQE2 in February 2025.


Hannah has volunteered at a number of human rights organisations including Amnesty International and Refugee Action.
