The day of activities in central London will begin with a memorial service at The Guy’s Chapel, King’s College, followed by a number of talks from experts in asbestos and mesothelioma including the Head of Research at the British Lung Foundation, president of the US Asbestos Disease Organisation and Secretary of the Construction Safety Campaign.
The event has been organised by the London Asbestos Support Awareness Group for London and the South East and London Hazards Centre.
The legal panel at the event will discuss a range of issues.
Harminder has represented those diagnosed with mesothelioma, and their families, for over 20 years. She advises the Parliamentary Asbestos Committee and is active in lobbying the Government on numerous issues.
Harminder said: “I am very much looking forward to being part of London Action Mesothelioma Day and to discussing the legal issues faced by those affected by asbestos-related cancer.
“Mesothelioma is a devastating disease which can hit people very quickly and have a huge impact of them and their families.
“It is crucial that days like this are organised to share knowledge and experience of this disease and hopefully work towards eradicating the presence deadly asbestos from our lives.”
