Baby in bouncer

3 August 2016

Parents have been alerted to a Mothercare baby bouncer recall by trading standards.

Mothercare has announced a recall on the Babymoov Swoon Up baby bouncer as a precautionary measure over safety concerns that the seat could become unstable if the central screw comes loose.

The recall has been announced so that Babymoov can make a minor modification to the seat.

The affected models are zinc and aluminium versions of the Swoon Up Bouncer with any of the following batch numbers:

4814-0462; 4814-0464; 4614-0461; 4814-0462; 3615-1089; 4614-0463; 2515-1087; 3615-1088;

1215-0675; 2115-1086; 1215-0674; 1215-0677; 0315-070A; 1215-0676; 0216-1761

The batch number is printed on the top right-hand corner of the care label.

Consumers who have bought one of the affected models can contact Babymoov’s customer services department by email, or by phoning 0800 520 0462 between 8:00-4:00 Monday-Friday to arrange a repair of the seat.

Product liability lawyer Jill Paterson welcomes the swift action by Babymoov saying:

“All parents and carers of young babies want to be sure that the equipment they use is completely safe.  If they are using one of these baby bouncers they should follow the advice issued by trading standards and check their model as soon as possible.”
