Colin Murphy, solicitor at law firm Leigh Day, is representing one woman who suffered a spinal injury and fractured ribs in the crash and another woman who suffered a head injury.

According to reports the FlixBus coach travelling from Paris to London tipped over on the A1 motorway in northern France on Sunday 3rd November 2019.

The coach was carrying 32 passengers when it crashed and it is believed that 29 were injured, four of which are still believed to be in hospital. It has been suggested that the coach crashed as it was leaving the motorway.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office have confirmed they are working with the French authorities to assist the British passengers.

There have been a number of crashes involving coaches operated by Flixbus reported over that last 12 months including a crash in Switzerland in December 2018 where one woman died and 40 were injured and a crash in Germany in May 2019 killing one and injuring several others.

Colin Murphy, travel solicitor representing two people injured in the crash, said:

“While we hope that a thorough investigation into the cause of the crash concludes quickly and measures are put in place to prevent similar accidents, now is the time for FlixBus and their regional operator to ensure that victims of this crash are fully supported.

“A support telephone line does not go far enough.  While any legal claims may take time to conclude, we would urge FlixBus and its insurers to co-operate in identifying the rehabilitation needs of victims, as facilitating prompt access to treatment is essential to their recovery.”
