Assistant Legal Cashier – Business Services

Leigh Day is seeking to appoint an Assistant Legal Cashier. The role will be primarily assisting the Senior Legal Cashier and will suit a proactive, diligent, junior legal cashier seeking to join a coveted, award winning, law firm known for ground breaking cases. The role will assist in ensuring the firm’s accounting procedures are adhered to and that support is provided on these procedures.

Main tasks and responsibilities will include;
• Undertaking daily banking duties including administration of petty cash.
• Processing of accounting transactions.
• Preparation of cheques and processing of bank transfers.
• Assisting with billing, client and office journals and write offs.
• Assisting the Accounts team with other relevant day-to-day tasks.

To be successful you must have;
• Strong numerical skills and strong desire / ability to work with numbers.
• Ability to demonstrate a high standard of competency to work with Microsoft Excel and accounting software(s).
• Relevant demonstrable experience of working within a busy accounts team.
• Previous relevant experience gained within a legal practice and / or an understanding of Solicitor Accounts Rules, though not essential will be highly advantageous.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Ability to demonstrate a high standard of performance, accuracy and ability to meet deadlines.
• Proven commitment to maintaining the highest levels of integrity and professional conduct.

This is a 6 month, fixed term position based in London.
