  • IT Operations Manager – Business Services Department Ref: ITOM/IT/BS/JAN17

    Due to an exciting period of growth within the firm we are now seeking an enthusiastic IT Operations Manager to join our IT Team within the Business Services Department.

    The role will assist in ensuring that the IT team is able to provide an outstanding service across the Firm (all locations), delivers IT solutions which support Leigh Day’s objectives & values and is complaint with all legal / regulatory requirements.  Primary responsibility will include day-to-day management of the IT Infrastructure, operations, the Service Desk team and an IT Trainee as well as various operational IT-related projects.  The post holder will be a Subject Matter Expert for all systems and software in use at the firm and will support the Director of IT operationally and strategically with planning and delivering new technologies. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders he/she will manage and monitor the continuous improvement of quality standards, ensuring the establishment and adherence to Best Practice.

    The ideal candidate must have demonstrable experience in managing a small team coupled with strong service delivery, project management & IT infrastructure experience. Candidates must have proven knowledge of Windows 8.1, Server 2008R2/2012, VMware and HP/Cisco switching.  S/he must have excellent communication skills and demonstrable ability to build trust and strong working relationships with senior stakeholders. The role holder must be able to demonstrate solid people management skills and the ability to successfully operate within a small, busy, hands-on, growing team.  S/he must be able to demonstrate an ability to work independently, take initiative, prioritise and deliver within strict deadlines / budgets.

    An ITIL certification and relevant experience gained within the legal sector / professional services will be highly advantageous but is not essential.

    This is a busy role and will fit candidates who are ambitious and looking for their next move in a deputy role within an IT team and is confident in supervising and managing a small team.

  • IT Trainer – Business Services Department Ref: IT Trainer/IT/BS/JAN17

    Leigh Day is looking to hire an experienced and driven IT Trainer to join the IT Team within the Business Services Department.  

    It will ideally suit an IT Trainer from a legal and/or professional services background, looking for a fast-paced role that offers opportunities for growth and visibility. Reporting to and working closely with our existing IT Trainer/Business Analyst, the role holder will be responsible for delivering training across the Firm, working with both new starters and current employees, across all levels within the Partnership. S/he will also provide high quality IT Training to the Firm through the facilitation of workshops, the creation of high quality training materials and collaterals and regular floor walking.
     
    To be successful the role holder must have a demonstrable experience in designing and delivering of bespoke IT training (through classroom based learning and one-to-one models) and an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010 and standard legal software applications. Candidates with proven knowledge in Windows 8.1, Office 2010, Linetime Liberate, Mimecast, BigHand will be preferred.  This is a busy role at a time of growth and will fit candidates, who are confident in working with multiple stakeholders across the organisation and have the ability to work independently to deliver against strict deadlines and targets.

  • Learning & Development Co-ordinator – Business Services Department, Ref: L&D/BS/JAN17

    Leigh Day is seeking to hire a Learning & Development (L&D) Co-ordinator within the Business Services Department to support the Firm’s strategic, operational and regulatory learning objectives and requirements. . This is a new post within a newly created team and presents a great opportunity for a dynamic coordinator with an interest and passion in L&D to join an award winning, high profile law firm with an unrivalled reputation for taking on many ground breaking cases.

    Reporting directly to the Learning and Development Manager, the post will work closely with the Managing Partner, HR Director and the IT team in assisting with booking, monitoring, evaluating and reporting on various training and development activities and related general administrative tasks.

    The successful candidate will act as the main administrator of the Learning Management System (LMS) and all centrally-organised training courses run internally and externally for both our London and Manchester offices.

    To be successful you must have demonstrable experience in coordinating projects and working with multiple stake holders across diverse teams. The post holder must be self-motivated with a can do positive attitude.  Demonstrable ability to take initiative, ownership and work independently is a must. S/he must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal, relationship building skills and ability to work with the context of a newly created team. Demonstrable competence in IT packages and keyboard skills is essential. Relevant experience gained in a similar L&D role within a professional / legal services environment whilst desirable is not essential.
