  • Legal Cashier x 2 – Business Services Department, Ref:ALC/BS/ACC/KA/APR17

    Leigh Day, an award winning, specialist law firm, is seeking to hire 2 outstanding candidates

    Legal Cashier | Reporting directly to the Accounts Manager the post holder will assist in ensuring the firm’s accounting complies with the standards and procedures as set out by the Law Society; the firm’s accounting procedures are adhered to all legal cashiering duties are undertaken promptly and accurately. It will ideally suit a legal cashier with demonstrable relevant experience within a similar sized law firm and / or an insurance firm. Whilst an ILFM Qualification will be highly advantageous, it is not essential. /he must have a thorough understanding of Solicitor Accounts Rules.

    Assistant Legal Cashier |This post will undertake daily banking duties including administration and reconciliation of petty cash, processing of accounting transactions, billing and preparation of cheques. S/he will assist the Accounts team with other relevant day-to-day tasks. Whilst legal background is not a must for this post, s/he must have a demonstrable understanding of Solicitor Accounts Rules.

    Both roles demand a high standard of performance, accuracy and ability to meet deadlines therefore candidates must have demonstrable experience of working within a busy accounts team. They must be able to demonstrate a high standard of numerical ability and competency to work with MS Excel and accounting software(s). They must have excellent written, verbal communication skills and ability to work with both internal and external stakeholders.
