Leigh Day investigating reports from tourists affected by Croatian wildfires

The Times was among the media outlets which reported that tourists were forced to evacuate resorts on the island of Brač, off Croatia's Dalmatian coast, as wildfires spread across the island in September 2026.

Leigh Day’s travel team has been approached by holidaymakers who report experiencing the distressing and traumatic effects of recent wildfires whilst abroad. Those affected describe being evacuated from their accommodation, facing uncertainty regarding their safety, and experiencing concerns about access to timely information, transport, and support as the situation developed. Many have also reported the significant emotional impact of witnessing rapidly unfolding events and fearing for their own safety and that of their families.

The law firm is investigating potential claims on behalf of tourists who suffered physical injuries or psychological harm, including anxiety, trauma, panic, or ongoing distress.
