Mandy is currently assisting with large multi-party age discrimination claims for members of the public sector against the Government and Staff Associations, as well as acting for individual claimants regarding various aspects of employment and discrimination law. Mandy has experience regarding race, sex and maternity discrimination claims, claims relating to sexual harassment, claims for victimisation, and equal pay claims and also provides advice regarding settlement agreements. Mandy began working at Leigh Day in February 2013, originally in the personal injury team before moving to the employment and discrimination team in April 2014, where she qualified as a solicitor in October 2016.
Mandy has worked on successful claims for 15,000 police officers with regards to age discrimination in relation to their pension.Mandy has also assisted with bringing claims for around 10,000 police officers against their Staff Association for age discrimination and victimisation.
Mandy has also worked for individuals regarding various areas of employment and discrimination law.
Mandy has experience of volunteering for a sexual harassment advice line, providing training to vulnerable employees regarding sexual harassment and has contributed to a ‘tackling sexual harassment in low-paid and insecure work’ position paper which was shared with the Health and Safety Executive, Equality and Human Rights Commission and the Director of Labour Market Enforcement.
Mandy has also assisted litigants in person regarding their claims at London Central Employment Tribunal and has previously been active in the Maternity Action legal working group.
Mandy has contributed case reviews to the Discrimination Law Association’s Briefings publication.
Mandy is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
