Ocean currently works with Nigel Mackay and William Frost on employment status claims in the context of the gig economy.
Legal expertise
Ocean joined Leigh Day’s Manchester office in 2019 to work on equal pay claims against Asda Stores Ltd.
Following completion of his Law MA, Ocean moved to Leigh Day’s London office to work in the international and group litigation department. His time was split between work on the ongoing emissions-based litigation against diesel vehicle manufacturers and investigating potential human rights abuses at home and abroad, particularly within the garment industry.
Further experience
Ocean has previously volunteered at food banks and centres for domestic abuse, as well as on hospital wards for terminally-ill patients. He also undertakes some part-time casework for Amicus.
Education
Ocean attended the Manchester Grammar School. He then studied History at the University of Manchester before completing the Law MA (Conversion).
