Case study: Rob

Rob was an experienced motorbike rider who used his bike for his daily commute to work.  Rob was involved in a road traffic incident when he was only a few minutes from his home that was the fault of a car driver who pulled out from behind a line of traffic without looking.  Rob had to undergo emergency surgery and the amputation on his leg which had been completely shattered.  Although legal action was not high on Rob’s list of priorities when he was injured another amputee recommended Leigh Day partner Sally Moore to him and Sally was able to secure a very significant amount of compensation for him which was a real relief as Rob had lost his job, largely because of his accident.  Rob has been able to use his compensation to buy prosthetic limbs which have allowed him to ski, go swimming and kayaking which were not available on the NHS.

Case study: below knee amputation

Sally Moore and Christine Tallon represented a motorbike rider who was knocked from his bike by a car carrying out a U-turn. Their client not only had to have a below the knee amputation of one leg, but suffered serious and permanent injuries to his right ankle. Following a complex legal case Sally and Christine negotiated a significant amount of compensation for their client at the door of the court.

Case study: surgeon’s serious ankle injury

The accident team represented a maxillo facial surgeon who suffered a serious ankle injury when he was knocked off his motorbike by a vehicle turning left across his path.  His ankle injury led to his prolonged absence from his work as a surgeon as he experienced considerable difficulty walking and standing. The case was settled by specialist motorbike solicitors at Leigh Day for £100,000 plus costs.
