Paralegal – Employment

Driven by recent successes, Leigh Day is seeking to hire a Paralegal within the Employment Department in Manchester.

The Employment department undertakes some of the biggest, high profile, group action cases involving equal pay and the gig economy. Key Tasks and responsibilities:
• Effectively managing a large group claim and ensure that accurate information and instructions are obtained from our clients with accuracy.
• Effectively delegating and supervising the work of junior paralegals and non-qualified fee earners.
• Dealing with general litigation of the case including interviewing clients and witnesses if applicable.
• Following the tribunal timetable and adhering to time limits, to notify the relevant fee earner and / or make necessary applications where required to protect the client’s position.
• Complying with the Civil Procedures Rules and Employment Tribunal Rules & Procedures.

To be successful you must have:
• An interest in working with a leading claimant law firm is a must along with a strong understanding and appreciation of Leigh Day values and ethos.
• Relevant legal experience in employment and or multi-party claims would be advantageous, but not essential.
• Some experience in a legal firm along with demonstrable knowledge of drafting legal documentation and correspondence.
• Some experience in interviewing clients and taking witness statements.
• Demonstrable ability to manage caseload in an efficient, accurate and timely manner.
• Demonstrable understanding of and commitment to client care.

This is a permanent, full-time post based in Manchester.
