Jess is a paralegal in the human rights department

Court of Protection Inquests

Jessica Smith joined Leigh Day as a paralegal in the human rights department in November 2021.

Jessica assists senior associate solicitor Anna Moore in a diverse caseload including Human Rights Act claims, Court of Protection cases and inquests.

Before joining Leigh Day, Jessica was a paralegal in the claims against public authorities department at Duncan Lewis Solicitors, where she worked on a variety of cases including claims against the police, prisons and the Home Office as well as inquests into the deaths of vulnerable people in the care of the State.

Education

Jessica studied Law at the University of Birmingham and completed a masters in Human Rights Law at the University of Nottingham.

She has also volunteered at a number of human rights and social justice organisations including the Centre for Criminal Appeals and the Hygiene Bank.
