Leading medical lawyer joins Leigh Day in Manchester

Medical negligence specialist Brendan Hope joins Leigh Day's team in Manchester

Posted on 23 November 2016

Medical negligence specialist Brendan Hope has left Slater and Gordon to join Leigh Day as a Partner at the firm’s Manchester office.

He teams up again with former colleague, Stephen Jones, who heads Leigh Day’s clinical negligence team in Manchester, which already includes two ex Slater and Gordon medical negligence solicitors, Jessica Holt and Claire White.

Brendan Hope joined Manchester law firm Pannone in 1999, qualifying in 2002. For the past fourteen years he has specialised in clinical negligence cases and is well known for his work on catastrophic brain and spinal injury, amputation and failure to diagnose cancer cases.

Chambers, the respected independent guide to the UK legal profession, quotes sources as saying, "He has an eye for detail and will never miss anything in a case," and that "he's very unassuming but superbly sharp"; another commentator adds: "he knows his cases from back to front."

Commenting on Brendan joining the team, Leigh Day’s Manchester office Head, Andrew Bradley said, “We are naturally delighted to secure the services of such a highly regarded expert in his field. Brendan will further strengthen Leigh Day’s growing reputation both here in the North West and nationally.”
