Shazia Yamin is a partner in the international and group litigation department and specialises in large-scale product liability litigation. She is a litigator with over 10 years’ experience and has particular expertise in consumer group actions.

Shazia joined the firm as an assistant solicitor in 2015 and became a partner in April 2021.

Shazia was one of two partners leading the Volkswagen NOx Emissions Group Litigation, which was a group action brought on behalf of over 90,000 vehicle owners following allegations of emissions test cheating in diesel vehicles.

The case was resolved in May 2022 following an out of court settlement which resulted in a payment of £193m being made to the claimants.

She is leading a further group action against the Volkswagen Group following allegations of emissions cheating in vehicles with later engine models and has also worked on a similar claim against Mercedes-Benz.
