The BBC has reported that Castlebeck, the company at the centre of abuse allegations at one of its care homes, Winterbourne View Hospital, has suspended more members of staff at another of its care homes, Villa Rose care home in Bristol. The suspensions come after inspectors from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) raised safeguarding concerns. An additional member of staff was suspended in June 2011 following allegations by a whistle-blower.
An undercover reporter working for Panorama revealed systematic incidents of abuse at Winterbourne View which were filmed and broadcast earlier this year. Rose Villa is a nine-bed rehabilitation centre in the Brislington area of Bristol for people with learning disabilities.
Leigh Day human rights partner Alison Millar has been approached to act for a number of former residents of Winterbourne View Hospital.
