Specialist personal injury partner and head of the cycling and sports injuries team at Leigh Day & Co, Penny Knight, has been invited to attend the Mayor & City of London Court on 15th July when the Lord Mayor of London, Alderman Michael Bear, visits the court for his annual visit. Penny has been invited to give a welcoming address to the Lord Mayor on his visit to the court which was recently saved from closure.
Penny is familiar with the court having represented cyclists and their families who have been seriously injured or who have died in cycling crashes in London.
Leigh Day has other links with the court having used it during an advocacy training session for its junior lawyers. The court is the oldest local civil court in England. For over 700 years a court has sat, virtually without a break, in the precincts of the Guildhall.
Penny was delighted to accept the invitation to address the Lord Mayor on behalf of personal injury solicitors generally and Leigh Day in particular.
