Charlotte is a senior associate solicitor in the clinical negligence department; having joined Leigh Day as a newly qualified solicitor in September 2014.

Charlotte has extensive expertise in a wide range of claims and runs her own varied caseload, which includes cases relating to stillbirth, cauda equina, brain injury, amputation and the delayed diagnosis of conditions such as cancer and appendicitis. Charlotte also has experience in assisting families at inquest where their loved one has died as a result of clinical negligence. 

Recent cases that Charlotte has successfully settled include:

  • Securing a seven-figure sum for a man who suffered an injury as a result of a delay in diagnosis of his tongue cancer
  • Securing compensation for the family of a woman who died as a result of the failure to recognise that she was suffering from hypertensive encephalopathy.
  • Securing compensation for the parents of a baby who died shortly after birth as a result of the hospital’s failure to recognise his distress during the labour and deliver him in a timely fashion.
  • Securing compensation for a lady who suffered a fall whilst in hospital as a result of which she fractured her hip and required a hip replacement.
  • Securing compensation for the mother of a baby who was stillborn as a result of the failure of the hospital to recognise that she was suffering from placental abruption.

Charlotte has also worked alongside a senior partner in the department assisting on complex cases involving spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, brain damage and maternal death. 

Membership

Charlotte is a member of the Spinal Injuries Association and is accredited as a litigator by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.
