Leigh Day's employment team wins team of the year for the second time in 3 years at The Lawyer Awards

Elizabeth George accepts the award for employment team of the Year from William Hague

24 June 2015

Leigh Day has won Employment Team of the Year at this year’s The Lawyer Awards, held on 23 June 2015.

The award was given in recognition for the team’s “tireless, and innovative work in the area of zero hours contracts”, including high profile litigation, campaign work and training.

Leigh Day beat off stiff competition to claim first place, the second time it has done so in 3 years.

Elizabeth George, from the law firm Leigh Day, who leads the team responsible for the zero hours work accepted the award from William Hague, the former Conservative foreign secretary and MP.

Ms George said “It was a surprise but a very happy one. The whole team has shown real commitment and creativity in terms of highlighting and challenging the misuse of zero hours contracts where we can, and it is brilliant to have had that recognized.

"The issue is an important one for anybody that cares about ensuring basic employee rights and protections and we haven’t finished yet!”.
