Red Nose Day Ride 2015

On Red Nose Day this year Jon decided to cycle around the Oxfam shops of Oxfordshire. Penny Knight, of the cycling and sports injuries team, tells us about Jon's Red Nose Day challenge:

"Jon is the area manager of 17 Oxfam shops in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. He decided to cycle to each of the shops to raise money for Comic Relief, a ride of 135 miles.

I was worried about his safety, rather than his ability to complete the ride, and so I volunteered my partner, Ian, and I to be his support.

We set off from the Banbury shop at 7am arriving at the final shop in north Oxford at 8.30pm, stopping off for a photo at each shop on the way.

It was a long day, not the best weather conditions and we ate more flapjacks and peanuts than we thought humanly possible. But we met some wonderfully committed Oxfam shop managers and workers along the way, raised a good amount of money and slept well that night."
