Rachel joined Leigh Day in September 2011 as a trainee solicitor and trained in the Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury departments before qualifying in September 2013.
"I thoroughly enjoyed my training contract at Leigh Day. The year-long seats allow you to really integrate into a department and get to grips with a practice area.
I had previously worked in medical law so was keen to continue my training in the Clinical Negligence department at Leigh Day, which I did in my first seat under the expert tuition of Nicola Wainwright. I was able to build on and expand my skill set in this interesting and varied area of law. Nicola’s door was always open and I learnt a great deal from her.
My second seat was in the Personal Injury team with Sally Moore, Head of the PI Department. Many of our clients were cyclists and, as a passionate cyclist myself, I found this was where my heart really belonged. The pace of work was fast, there was lots of client contact, and I really felt like I was making a difference to clients’ lives.
I qualified into Sally’s team where I now work as an Assistant Solicitor, and I’m still cycling to work every day!"
