When you choose a residential home for your loved ones, you believe and trust they will be treated with respect and protected from harm; not be at risk of neglect and abuse.
Sadly, abuse can occur in many situations. Our specialist abuse claims solicitors have successfully acted for abused adults with learning difficulties, and for elderly people abused whilst resident in hospitals or care homes. An award of damages and an apology can go some way to showing our clients that what had happened was wrong and not their fault.
Partner Alison Millar represented former residents of Winterbourne View who suffered abuse at the hospital. We have also helped people who have been emotionally, physically and sexually abused by health care professionals when being treated for their mental health problems, such as for anorexia, alcoholism, and depression.
"Alison Millar ‘provides measured and invaluable advice’ on abuse matters."

Time limits do apply to abuse compensation claims, but you may be able to claim even if the abuse occurred many years ago. If you are a survivor, or a carer, you can talk confidentially to a member of the abuse claims team, who will understand and will tell you if we can help.
Please phone Alison or Emma on 020 7650 1200, or fill in our enquiry form and someone will get back to you shortly.
