Whiplash payout for British Cycling member

07 August 2006

British Cycling member Maxliyn Harris, a 2nd Cat cyclist and member of Agisko Viner Cycling Club has successfully concluded his claim for compensation arising from a road traffic accident, which occurred on 5th July 2006.

On the day of Max's accident he had been out on a routine training ride when, as he was established on the roundabout situated at the junction with Minley Road/M3/Fleet/Eletham Heath, a motorist suddenly pulled out on to the roundabout, failing to notice Max's presence and drove directly into Max's path.  As a result of the third party's neglient actions, an impact occurred with Max's bicycle and he was catapulted from his bicycle over the bonnet of the vehicle, landing on the the road.

As a result of the accident Max sustained a whiplash injury, together with grazing and severe bruising to his lower body, which thankfully, following chiropractic treatment, resolved completely within a matter of weeks.

Max was represented by Anna Hart, assistant to Sue Bence in Leigh Day & Co's Cycling and Sports Injuries Team.  Max's claim was supported and funded by British Cycling.
