Mary is an assistant solicitor in the complex claims department, specialising in international claims and group actions. Mary currently works with Richard Meeran on a claim brought by a group of indigenous Peruvians against Monterrico Metals plc. She is also working with Richard on a test case being brought in South Africa by gold miners who have developed silicosis. This work is being carried out in conjunction with the Legal Resources Centre in South Africa.
Mary trained as a solicitor with City law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and qualified there in 2006. One year after qualification, she joined the Home Office as an assistant legal adviser. She left in 2009 to study a masters in law. She also worked as a volunteer at the AIRE Centre in London, which provides legal assistance to individuals in the areas of human rights law and European law. She joined Leigh Day in 2010 and is currently completing her masters part time. Mary has a BA in French and Spanish.
Mary is currently on maternity leave.
